GO INDEPENDENT FOR WOOL WEEK 2015
Just Got Made • 05 Oct 2015Wool Week 2015 is here! Organised by The Campaign for Wool, it’s a chance to come together and celebrate the natural benefits and versatility of wool in fashion, furnishings and everyday life.
In honour of this woolly week we looked at our directory members for inspiration, and put together this list of the best independent yarn producers and independent knitting shops in the UK.
Yarn Producers
Kettle Yarns produce sumptuous wool from British sheep, which Linda hand dyes with her jewel-like colours! http://www.justgotmade.com/supplier/kettle-yarn-co
The New Yarn Company (previously Sheep of Steel) create eye-popping handspun yarns in collaboration with spinning mills and designer-makers throughout Britain. Blacker Yarns are spun by The Natural Fibre Company, who run a self-contained spinning mill and dye house in Cornwall. Fleeces are handpicked from rare and regional British Breed sheep, goats and alpacas to make pure and blended woollen and worsted yarns http://www.justgotmade.com/supplier/blacker-yarns-the-natural-fibre-company
The TOFT studio is based on an alpaca farm in Warwickshire, where they design and manufacture quality alpaca and wool yarn, plus their own knitwear from British sourced luxury fibres. We love their new Autumn woolly hats! http://www.justgotmade.com/supplier/toft-alpaca-shop
